Trains of Winnipeg, 2003

Trains of Winnipeg is a multi-media project by filmmaker Clive Holden, that spanned 2001-2006. Trains of Winnipeg straddles film, music, literature, and visual art, and the final project culminated in a book, CD, DVD, and website. The DVD comprises of 14 Film Poems which are linked together by the overarching metaphor of a train ride. I was asked to compose a soundtrack for one of the 14 Film Poems, below is a portion of the title track. The music speaks to the analog nature of trains, the repetition of a trains movement, layered with the haunting sounds of a bygone era.
